TADE OYEWUNMI is a law professor, author, and consultant with specialties in energy and natural resources law, international energy transactions, property law, environmental law, and the economic regulation of natural gas and electricity markets. Dr. Oyewunmi’s publications include the book titled Decarbonisation and the Energy Industry (Hart Publishing, 2020), and another titled Regulating Gas Supply to Power Markets (Wolters Kluwer, 2018). Before joining the academia, he practiced in the area of international energy transactions and project finance with a leading commercial law firm in Nigeria. He serves as an Associate Editor of the Oil, Gas & Energy Law Intelligence (OGEL) Journal, and the Vice Chair of the Academic Outreach Committee of the Institute for Energy Law at the Center for American and International Law. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN), and The Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law (formerly Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation). Dr. Oyewunmi obtained his Doctor of Laws (LL.D) in International Energy Law and Policy at the UEF School of Law, Finland; his LL.M in Oil and Gas Law at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK; and his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

His multidisciplinary energy transactional practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions and energy development and operations, primarily in the oil and gas and related sectors, including a burgeoning practice representing project developers in the carbon capture, utilization and sequestration (CCUS) industry.
